Ingredients

  • 36 Oreos finely crushed
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups light green melting wafers
  • ½ cup black or dark chocolate melting wafers
  • 1-½ tablespoons crisco shortening
  • Black sprinkles long not round
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Small candy eyes

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine oreos, cream cheese and vanilla extract. Mix with an eclectic hand or stand mixer for 1-2 minutes until fully combined and one dough-like mixture is formed.
  • Using a 2 tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop dough from the bowl and form into an even, smooth, round ball using the palms of your hands. Place each ball on a large cookie sheet prepared with parchment paper. Use your fingers to press down onto the Oreo ball to create a flat top. Flip the ball over on the side and do the same. Repeat for all sides until you create a square shape!
  • Place a cookie sheet inside the refrigerator to chill for 2 hours.
  • Near the end of the chill time, begin to prepare the green melting wafers. Place the wafers in a microwave safe bowl and heat on 50% power or on defrost mode for 1 minute. Stir with a fork and add 1 tablespoon of crisco. Return to the microwave for additional 30 seconds bursts, stirring in between, until smooth and silky. It should have the consistency of dressing.
  • Dip the oreo bites inside the green chocolate using two forks or dipping tools, coating it completely before adding it back on the cookie sheet. Be sure to scrape the bottoms of your forks or dipping tools to remove any excess chocolate. You can also gently sling the ball from side to side to remove any excess.
  • Immediately dip one side of the square into the black sprinkles. This will create Frankenstein’s hair. Add candy eyes to the front face of each bite. Then break off the round ends of each pretzel stick (about 1 inch lengths) and press them simultaneously into the sides of Frankenstein’s head. Repeat for all oreo bite and place the baking sheet back inside the refrigerator during step 7.
  • Repeat step 4 for the remaining dark chocolate or black melting wafers and crisco. Once chocolate is fully melted, add it to a small sandwich-size Ziploc bag. Be sure to remove any air before closing the bag. Using a pair of scissors cut the smallest hole possible in the corn of the bag. This will get you ready for piping!
  • Remove the baking sheet from the refrigerator and begin to pipe Frankenstein’s smile or frown onto each bite. You can create whatever design you wish. I recommend a straight face or zig-zag lines.
  • Allow the Franketnstein bites to chill for another 30 minutes before serving.
