3 cups fresh strawberries chopped 2 21-ounce cans of strawberry pie filling 1 15.25 ounce box butter golden cake mix ¾ cup 1 ½ sticks of salted butter, cold Whipped topping or vanilla ice cream optional garnish
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with baking spray.
Spread the fresh strawberries evenly over the bottom of the prepared pan.
Scoop the cans of strawberry pie filling into the pan and spread evenly over the fresh strawberries.
Sprinkle on the butter golden cake mix as evenly as possible.
Cut the cold butter into thin, even squares, and place the butter evenly across the top of the cake mix.
Bake for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown all over the top and bubbly on the sides.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for at least 10-15 minutes before serving warm with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream, optional.
