Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Then prep your 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
In a mixing bowl add your brownie mix, egg, butter, and milk. Mix to combine.
Pour into the pan and bake for 25-28 minutes or until done.
Place on cooling rack and let the brownies fullly cool.
Next you will use a large mixing bowl and add cream cheese and vanilla together. With a hand mixer whip until light and creamy.
Add in powdered sugar a little at a time. Make sure to scrape down the sides to ensure the batter gets fully mixed together.
In a microwave safe bowl add your chocolate and butter. Microwave for 30 seconds stirring well. Then repeat the heat cycle and do this until the chocolate is fully melted.
Slowly mix in the chocolate mixture to the cream cheese mixture, making sure to stir constantly.
Once mixed fold in the whipped topping.
Pour the mixture over the cooled brownies and spread into an even layer.
Next spread the whipped cream over the top in an even layer. Then top with chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips.
Refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
