Ingredients
2lbsround steak
1medium yellow onionthinly sliced
8ozmushroomssliced
1packet French onion soup mixdry
½teaspoonground black pepper
2cupsbeef broth
1tablespoonWorcestershire
1 ½tablespoonscornstarch
Instructions
Add half of the onions and mushrooms into the bottom of a 6 quart or larger slow cooker.
Season both sides of the steaks with the dry french onion soup mix and black pepper and place into the slow cooker.
Add the remaining onions and mushrooms on top of the steaks.
Pour in the beef broth and worcestershire around the steaks. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or until the meat is tender and cooked through.
Add ⅓ cup of hot broth from the slow cooker into a small bowl with the cornstarch and whisk until smooth. Pour back into the crockpot and stir to combine. Cook uncovered for 15-20 minutes on high, or until the sauce has thickened to your liking. Adjust with salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot over mashed potatoes or rice, enjoy!
