Cook pasta according to packaged directions for al dente.
Remove 1 cup of the pasta water for later.
Add the butter to the pasta and toss well
Finely chop the sun-dried tomatoes.
In a skillet on medium high heat add the pesto, garlic, oil and chopped sun-dried tomatoes and heat for 2 minutes stirring often.
Add shrimp and cook for two to three minutes. Stir in the cheese and mix thoroughly.
Toss in the pasta to coat. Use the remaining pasta water to thin the sauce to the desired consistency.
