JUST SIX SUPER SIMPLE INGREDIENTS –
When you want to make chicken differently than you have in the past, this Stuffed Chicken Breast Recipe is perfect for you. Although it might sound complicated to make, it is a lot easier than you think, and the outcome is magnificent. If you enjoy cheese, tomatoes, and chicken, you will get to combine these three ingredients to prepare juicy, cheesy chicken.
How do you stuff chicken?
Stuffing chicken is a rather simple process. You can place the chicken breasts on a cutting board and begin cutting down horizontally with a sharp knife. Although you are going to cut into the chicken, do not cut all the way down to ensure that you make a pocket for your ingredients. Once you make this slit, you can add your ingredients into the chicken to stuff it before you prepare it.
How long do I need to marinate the chicken?
Let your chicken breasts sit in the marinade for a minimum of two hours. If you can leave the chicken marinated a bit longer, it is even better because the chicken will absorb all the flavor.
Do I need to use fresh spinach for this recipe?
It is best to use fresh spinach when you are preparing the stuffed Chicken Breast Recipe. However, if you only have frozen spinach available to use, you can thaw it and then add it to your chicken while stuffing it with the ingredients. Leave the frozen spinach out for about an hour to thaw before using it.
Can I use chicken thighs?
For this recipe, skip out on using chicken thighs as a replacement. It is much better to use chicken breasts because you will have more meat to work with and can make the pocket for stuffing the chicken a lot easier.
How long does it take to prepare this chicken?
If you have already marinated the chicken for several hours, you can have this meal ready in about 30-45 minutes. It may take a few minutes for you to stuff the chicken with the spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and cheese. Once you stuff the chicken, you’ll sear it, which only takes several minutes. As a finishing touch, you will put it in the oven and bake it for a maximum of 15 minutes. It is a quick meal that you can serve for dinner.
Is there an alternative for feta cheese?
Although feta cheese is the best type of cheese to use when preparing the Sundried Tomato, Spinach, and Cheese Stuffed Chicken, there are a few alternatives that you can use. Cottage cheese and queso fresco are two alternatives that will taste good with spinach and tomatoes.
How to store your leftovers
Put any leftovers in a Tupperware container. Seal your container with a lid and place your food in the fridge. You can keep your leftovers in the fridge for about three days. If you need to reheat the leftovers, you can do so in the microwave, oven, or in a skillet on your stove to get it hot again.
What should I serve with the stuffed chicken?
The Sundried Tomato, Spinach, and Cheese Stuffed Chicken is the perfect meat to serve with a side of pasta. You can make pasta with feta cheese and sundried tomatoes to go with your chicken. Other sides to serve with this chicken include creamed spinach, roasted broccoli, and creamy mashed potatoes. While these are some suggestions, you can serve any sides that you like with your stuffed chicken.
Can I freeze the stuffed chicken?
After marinating the chicken and stuffing it with the spinach, cheese, and sundried tomatoes, you can freeze it. If you have plans to freeze the chicken to eat it later in the week or month, place it in a glass food storage container, place plastic wrap over the chicken, and then put the lid on it. Keep your chicken frozen for a maximum of three months. You can defrost your chicken in the oven or the fridge for several hours before preparing it.
