Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (24-ounce) jar your favorite pasta sauce
- 1 (15-ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1 (16-ounce) box ziti
Serves-8
Instructions
- In a medium skillet over medium-high heat brown your ground beef and drain the grease.
- In a medium bowl, stir together ricotta cheese, egg, salt , garlic powder, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
- Pour 1/3 of sauce into the bottom of a greased 6-quart slow cooker.
- Scatter 1/3 of the uncooked ziti on top.
- Sprinkle with 1/2 of the cheese.
- Spoon 1/2 of the ricotta cheese mixture over the ziti.
- Repeat another layer of sauce, ziti, cheese and the remaining ricotta mixture.
- Repeat with remaining ziti and then the remaining sauce.
- Fill your pasta sauce jar with half water and half broth and pour that over the top evenly.
- Cover and cook on high for 2 1/2 hours.
- Remove lid and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
- Cover with the lid just long enough to melt the cheese.
