The ultimate appetizer! I thought it would be perfect timing to bring you a recipe I make OFTEN.
I don’t only serve them at parties or Holidays either- they are super delicious over mashed potatoes or even rice!
If using them as an appetizer, just grab some toothpicks and watch them disappear!
It may sound like a strange combination, but I assure you it tastes seriously incredible!
.
Its so simple and the flavor is outstanding!
I have this on my weekly dinner rotation at my house!
Yes, I love them THAT much..lol
Its a set it and forget it type recipe!
They become super moist and not too sweet, not too spicy- just perfect!

I make mine with cranberry relish/sauce instead of grape jelly and it is also very good!

These sound really good but, is the amount of meatballs correct that is in the recipe. Three 5 pound bags of frozen meatballs would be 15 pounds. That’s really a lot of meatballs. I’m not sure a regular size slow cooker can hold 15 pounds of meatballs.

If you dont like or cant eat spicy. I use equal parts jelly and ketchup. I brown minced onion and garlic in a couple table spoons of coconut oil. Then add jelly and ketchup and follow the rest of this recipe.

Hello, I have been using this recipe, probably from back in the 60’s, except I made my own meatballs, Delicious! However, my question to you is, where does the “spicy” come in? If I remember, it was more like ‘sweet and sour’. Still delicious.
Just wondering if somethng was left our of the recipe.
Thanking you,
Karen says

I live in Australia where grape jelly just can’t be found. What would be a suitable substitute? Cranberry sauce?

Are you a Prime member? You can buy Heinz Chili Sauce and grape jelly or jam from Amazon. Buy more than one jelly so you can have it on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or for breakfast on bagels, biscuits or toast.

Not clear on how many meatballs?? 3 – 5 lb bags. Or a 3 1\2 lb bag of meatballs?
Dee says
You can also add julienne green pepper and otr pineapple chunks.

I’ve made this recipe for years too, and there’s no need to heat the jelly and chili sauce in a separate pan. I just throw it all in the crock pot and stir all together as it all heats up.

I made these today and they were absolutely delicious! Had to shrink the recipe down as I only needed enough for 2. But, it came out great. I used the Italian meatballs.
