Comfort food at it’s BEST.
One of my families favorite side dishes that goes with just about anything!
It’s done in the Slow Cooker, so during the hot months,
it won’t make your home any warmer than it needs to be 😉
One of my favorite things about this dish is that it can easily be turned into a Main dish!
Just by adding some sausage, grilled chicken or even hot dogs works too!
It’s perfect for BBQ’s or to bring to a potluck or for a holiday party!
The secret ingredients are the sour cream and cream cheese!
It gives it an insanely delicious flavor and texture!
Creamy Crock Pot Macaroni & Cheese!
Ingredients
- 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
- 1 stick butter salted, cut into chunks
- 2 1/4 cups grated Cheddar cheese any cheese you prefer will work
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1/2 cream cheese softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 can condensed Cheddar cheese soup about 5 oz
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk or half & half or Heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons of mustard
Instructions
- Start of by boiling your macaroni in a saucepan until al dente, about 6 minutes. Drain.
- In a separate saucepan, combine the butter and cheese and the cream cheese. Stir until incorporated.
- Next, in your Crock pot, combine cheese/cream cheese/butter mixture and add in the beaten eggs, sour cream, soup, salt, milk, mustard and pepper and combine well.
- Add in your drained macaroni and stir again until its all completely covered
- Cook on LOW setting for 2.5 to 3 hours, stirring periodically.
