Fireball sangria is a delicious twist to a traditional sangria recipe. Loaded with red wine, Fireball cinnamon whiskey, pineapple orange juice, apples, cranberries, and cinnamon sticks. This whiskey sangria is going to win over a crowd.

The cinnamon-flavored Whiskey takes this sangria to a whole new level of flavor. It is bursting with hot cinnamon flavor and then you have that tart from the apple and smooth vibe from the red wine.

What is Fireball Sangria

Sangria is a Spanish wine drink that is made with red or white wine, fresh or frozen fruit, and typically brandy. For this recipe, you use a cinnamon whiskey to take the drink to a whole new level of flavor.

Ingredients You Will Need

Wine – Red wine is what you will use for this recipe. Pinot Noir, Malbec, Tempranillo, or even a Garnacha. But feel free to use any red wine you would like.

Whiskey – Fireball cinnamon whiskey is the star of this sangria recipe. Feel free to use any type of cinnamon whiskey if you prefer.

Juice – Pineapple orange juice is going to add a nice splash of tropical flavor to the cocktail.

Fruit – Frozen or fresh cranberries and sliced apples are the fruit used in this wine cocktail. I recommend using green apples.

Cinnamon Sticks – Finish off the drink with some cinnamon sticks for presentation but also offer more cinnamon flavor.

Variations to Recipe

Juice – Cranberry juice, apple cider, apple juice, or even straight orange juice can be used instead of pineapple orange juice. Feel free to play around with flavors.

Fruit – Go right ahead and add in different fruit you may want. Pomegranate seeds, orange slices, pears, and more all can be used to add to the sangria.

Whiskey – Fireball is what I used but you can use any type of cinnamon whiskey. Or if you want to let go of the cinnamon flavor use another flavored whiskey to add it to the cocktail.

Tips for Making Sangria

Chilled Ingredients

It is best to start with chilled ingredients so you can get the proper temperature quicker. Just keep whiskey, wine, and fruit in the fridge and when you go to assemble have it ready to pour and mix.

Prep Fruit

Wash and prep the fruit by slicing it into bite-size pieces or strips. Then you will add the fruit into the container as you wish. Just make sure it is fully prepped before adding to the container.

Sweetening Drink

You can balance the tart by adding more sweetness to the drink. Add a little sugar and extra juice, and it will help to make it less tart to drink.

Allow Drink To Chill For A Bit

Allowing the drink to fully chill in the fridge for a bit before serving is going to allow all the flavors of the mixed drink to blend properly. You will find you can let it sit even overnight for added flavor.

Serving Over Ice

This is a drink that is best served cold. So I do recommend that you serve it over a glass with ice. It will water down a bit as the ice melts but there is so much flavor you shouldn’t miss much flavor when the ice melts.

Storing

Any of the fireball sangria you do not drink right away can be stored in a sealed container in the fridge. You will find the fruit will soften as it sits in the fridge, but you can scoop it out and discard it if you need.

Add fresh fruit or simply serve without the fruit if you don’t have any more to add to the mixture.

Can I use any type of red wine for Fireball Sangria?

Yes, any red wine works for this recipe. Just make sure you pick a wine that you enjoy the flavor of as it is going to be the boldest flavor in this cocktail.

What fruits work well in Fireball Sangria?

Apples, oranges, cranberry, lemons or limes, berries, peaches, pears or other fruit will work for this. You can always add more fruit to the recipe or use what you prefer in terms of flavor.

Are there any creative variations of Fireball Sangria?

Toss in some diced jalapneo for a kick of spice or even some mint leaves for a warm minty flavor next to the cinnamon. Feel free to play around and create different flavor profiles.

Fireball Sangria is a wine cocktail that is paired cinnamon Fireball whiskey. You will pair with fresh apples, and cranberries for a Christmas whiskey sangria.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bottle dry red wine of choice such as Pinot Noir, Garnacha, Tempranillo or Malbec
  • 1 cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey
  • 1 cup orange pineapple juice
  • 2 green apples cored and diced
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen thawed cranberries
  • 4-5 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  • Add diced apples, cranberries, and cinnamon sticks to a large pitcher or punch bowl.
  • Pour the wine, Fireball and orange pineapple juice into the pitcher and stir well.
  • Place in the refrigerator to chill for at least an hour or overnight before serving.
  • Serve and enjoy!
