Want some easy ways to change up this sugar cookie drink recipe? If so, here are a few swaps to create different flavors for this drink.
- Add in some chocolate syrup to make this a chocolate sugar cookie drink.
- Rim the edge of the glass with crushed Oreo cookies, graham crackers, or even vanilla wafers. Use the frosting and then roll in the crushed cookies.

- Use hazelnut liquor instead of vanilla vodka. It will add more flavor to the drink.
- Sprinkle the top of the cocktail with a light dusting of cinnamon for a warm spice component.
- Instead of sugar roll the edge of the glass in sprinkles for a pop of color and chewy sweetness.
Tips for Success
Chilled Glass
Before you make your drink you can place the glasses in the freezer and let them sit for at least 30 minutes. This helps create that extra chilled drink.
Cold Ingredients
I like to make sure all my ingredients are refrigerated in advance. That way it helps to really get that chilled drink that won’t warm up as fast once served up.
Shake Well
Make sure you really mix up the ingredients in this cocktail. Whether you use a cocktail shaker or a glass with a lid. Make sure you mix really well for the best quality of flavor.
Adjusting Sweetness
You can add less or more of the Baileys to alter the sweet. More Bailey’s will result in a sweeter cocktail. Where less will be a bit less sweet.
Rimming Glass
I used frosting for rimming the glass. You can use your finger and lightly spread the frosting around the rim. Or spread a thin layer on a plate. Then dip the glass into the frosting so it rims the edge of the glass.
Then you will have another plate with sugar or sprinkles that you roll the glass in to pick up the sprinkles. This is the easiest way to go.
Storing Leftover Cocktails
This drink is best made fresh. But if you happen to not drink it all, simply pour it into a sealed container. Store for 1-2 days. Then before serving shake well again as the ingredients can separate a bit.
FAQs
Can I make a non-alcoholic version of the Sugar Cookie Cocktail?
Swap the alcohol with milk for a non-alcoholic version. Then you will use heavy cream and then add in 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a few drops of almond extract to get that sweet cookie flavor.
What can I use instead of amaretto liqueur?
You can use a flavored syrup, almond extract, or another type of liqueur. You just want a nutty flavor. If you want to make it without alcohol for the amaretto just add a splash of hazelnut-flavored coffee creamer for a quick swap-in.
Can I make a big batch of Sugar Cookie Cocktails for a party?
If you plan to serve up a crowd, use a pitcher to make up a batch. Then stir well with a whisk until it is nice and combined. Then pour into glasses and serve up a super easy cocktail.
