Ingredients Needed to Make the Pork Schnitzel

You’ll need to have the following ingredients to prepare this tasty pork recipe:

  • Pork Chops. Make sure you’re getting thin-sliced pork chops for this recipe. You’ll need about 10 of them.

  • Olive Oil. You’ll fry these breaded pork chops in olive oil.

  • Eggs. Coat your chops in an egg wash before adding breadcrumbs to them.

  • Breadcrumbs. Use panko-style breadcrumbs or any other type you have available to coat your pork chops in them.

You’ll also need a bit of flour, salt, and pepper. This recipe is an easy one to make with a few ingredients. While you don’t need to add anything else to the mixture, it’s fine to add additional spices. For example, if you want to make a spicy version of the Pork Schnitzel Recipe, you can add red pepper flakes, cajun seasoning, or any other hot spices that you have.

What if I don’t have olive oil to use for frying?

If you don’t have olive oil for frying your Pork Schnitzel, you can use a different type of oil, such as canola, peanut, or vegetable oil. It can slightly alter the taste of the dish, but you can still expect the meat to taste delicious.

How long will I need to cook the pork chops in the oil?

Let your pork chops cook in the oil for at least three minutes per side. You may need to cook them for about five minutes per side, but it depends on how high the heat is and how fast they appear to be cooking in your skillet. Don’t cook all 10 pork chops at once. You don’t want to overcrowd the skillet. Instead, cook five at a time.

Why do I need to dredge the chops in an egg?

It’s important to dredge the pork chops in egg because that’s how you’ll get the flour and breadcrumb mixture to stick to your meat. If you don’t dredge it in egg beforehand, the flour and breadcrumbs won’t stick nearly as well to the pieces of pork that you’re using.

What should I serve with the Pork Schnitzel?

You can serve the Pork Schnitzel with some of your favorite sides. It tastes great with mashed potatoes, macaroni, and cheese, or creamed spinach. If you want to serve it with traditional sides, sauerkraut, noodles, and braised cabbage are three excellent options. Cook what you like! The pork is versatile enough to go with all kinds of sides, no matter what you like to eat.

Can I save some of the pork for later?

Yes, you can save your Pork Schnitzel for later. If you don’t finish it all, feel free to put it in a plastic food storage container with a lid. Place the container in the refrigerator and eat the meat within three days of refrigeration. You can reheat it in the microwave, on the stove, or even in the air fryer to get it crisp and delicious again.

How many people does this Pork Schnitzel Recipe serve?

With this Pork Schnitzel Recipe, you can serve 5-8 people. It all depends on how many pieces of meat you’re giving to each person, along with the sides you’re preparing to go with the meal. If you need to serve more than eight people, it’s a good idea to prepare more pork chops with the breadcrumbs and flour and then fry them to have extra meat for everyone.
