Reasons To Try This Pumpkin White Russian Cocktail
- Tastes like a pumpkin pie white Russian drink.
- Flavors of fall in each sip. You will love this recipe.
- Great for a single person or makes enough to serve up a crowd.
- Simple ingredients so it is easy to get supplies for this drink.
- Pretty presentation value so if you are hosting a meal you have a nice dessert cocktail to serve up.
Ingredients Needed
Vodka – To sweeten up the cocktail even more I reached for a vanilla vodka which I find compliments the other ingredients in this vodka cocktail nicely.
Kahlua – You will want to reach for a coffee liqueur. I used Kahlua but you are welcome to use another type if you prefer a different brand or style. This adds a nice punch of creamy coffee flavor.
Pumpkin Creamer – Reach for your favorite pumpkin spice creamer and use to help add those warm spices in pumpkin spice. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves!
Ice – Ice is optional but I do love a White Russian over ice. It helps to keep the cocktail nice and chilled as you are sipping.
Optional Toppings – Whipped topping, cinnamon sticks and crushed graham crackers that you can line the rim of the glass with. These are all optional but will transform the cocktail to a whole new level of deliciousness.
Variations to Recipe
- Top the drink with some pumpkin spice seasoning or cinnamon.
- Use pumpkin spice syrup, and then pour in some heavy cream or milk.
- Blend and serve as a frozen drink instead of served on ice.
- If you don’t have Kahlua or a liqueur you can always do a shot of espresso in the cocktail.
- Make with dairy-free substitutes if you need a dairy-free pumpkin white Russian.
- Use cold brew coffee for a latte version, and swap out the Kahlua.
- Swap Kahlua for Chia tea or steep the tea in the vodka to enhance the flavor of the tea. Just let it steep for 2 hours in the vodka and then assemble the drink.
- Use coconut milk and pumpkin spice seasoning instead of pumpkin coffee cream for a coconut twist.
- Swirl in some amaretto for a nutty twist to the cocktail.
- Use some maple syrup to help enhance the drink flavor and offer that rich maple flavor in each sip.
Pro Tips For Success
Measuring Cocktail
I do recommend that you measure your ingredients when you are starting out making cocktails. This is going to help provide thatconsistent flavor each time you go to whip up this pumpkin cocktail.
Quality Ingredients
Quality ingredients is going to provide you with the best flavor of this drink. Also reach for quality vodka, fresh liqueur, creamer, etc. It will improve the overall drink.
Sweetness
You are more than welcome to adjust how sweet this cocktail is. If you want to make a bit less sweet, use less creamer. For a sweeter version add more creamer or even add in some simple syrup.
Mixing Cocktail
You can use a cocktail shaker or a stir stick and mix up this cocktail. When stirring you will see the layers of ingredients swirling together. I prefer to use a stir stick for this type of cocktail.
Rimming Glass
Adding the crushed graham crackers to the rim of the glass are otpinal. Now if you want to do this you can swirl some honey, water, or even milk around the edge of the glass. This will help the crackers to stick when you roll the rim in the crushed crackers.
Storing
I recommend serving up this cocktail freshly made. If you happen to have some leftover you can store it in a sealed container for a day in the fridge. Just give it a good stir before you go to sipping.
You will find the ingredients can settle. Also make sure to remove any ice out of glass before you refrigerate or it will water down the cocktail.
