Ingredients Needed to Make Cheeseburger Soup
-
Hamburger. It’s fine to use 80/20 or 90/10, whichever you prefer.
-
Velveeta. Enjoy the cheesy taste this provides, along with the creaminess it adds to the soup.
-
Carrots. Shred the carrots by hand or buy them pre-shredded before tossing them in your slow cooker.
-
Onion. Use a white or yellow onion for this recipe, whichever you already have on hand.
-
Bacon. The brand and style of the bacon don’t matter. Use the flavor you like!
-
Chicken Broth. If you don’t have chicken broth, it’s fine to use vegetable or beef broth as a substitute.
-
Sour Cream. Give your soup some additional creaminess with a bit of sour cream.
You’re also going to need garlic, potatoes, celery, Worcestershire sauce, butter, all-purpose flour, milk, smoked paprika, and salt and pepper. You can also add jalapeno to your slow cooker, but it depends on the level of spice you can tolerate.

Can I freeze the Cheeseburger Soup?
You can freeze the recipe after making Cheeseburger Soup in the crock pot, saving leftovers, or preparing it in advance for a later time. If you’re going to freeze it, the first thing you need to do is make sure you’re storing it in an airtight container. Be sure to choose a freezer-safe container to keep your soup protected.
Once you place the container of soup in the freezer, you can keep it there for up to three months before you remove it and defrost it in the fridge. It’s always a good meal to have in the freezer when you need it.
