Ingredients
- 1 lb NY strip steak thin cut
- 1 White onion
- 1 bell pepper any color
- 1 ” Ginger minced
- 3 Garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp salt divided
- 1 tsp coarse black pepper divided
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes divided
- ½ cup soy sauce
Teriyaki Sauce
- ½ cup water
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- ½ cup low sodium soy sauce
- ½ cup mirin
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- ½ tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tsp ginger paste
- 2 tsp garlic paste
- ½ tsp white pepper
Instructions
- First, marinate the steak. Combine soy, baking powder, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp pepper, ½ tsp red pepper flakes, ginger, and garlic and pour into a ziplock with steak.
- Marinate steak for 1 hour.
- Preheat a frying pan over high heat
- Prepare teriyaki sauce. Mix water and cornstarch until dissolved. Combine cornstarch mixture and all remaining ingredients into a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until thickened, about 10 minutes.
