Creamy Bacon Pea Salad is an amazing and creamy side dish that is perfect for this Summers cook outs! Packed with crunchy peas, loads of crispy bacon and cheese- all tossed in an incredible dressing!
Super simple ingredients that almost everyone already has in their pantry!
This is a ultra easy peasy (lol) recipe that is both sweet & crunchy! While I was growing up, my mother made us this pea salad that we love to this day. It’s just standard easy ingredients too- which is always awesome!
I have added numerous things to this exact recipe to change it up too- its very versatile. Great additions would be cubed cheeses instead of shredded, grilled chicken, hard boiled eggs or even cubed ham!
This is sure to be a go-to recipe this Summer for all the BBQs, pot lucks, pool parties or any occasion where you want to bring something yummy as a side dish!
Its very LOW CARB too! with lots of protein from the cheese and the bacon! 😉
All the outstanding flavor without all the carbs!
Its always best to use fresh or frozen peas for this recipe- canned get way too mushy to hold up well. Another thing that you could try- I am going to next time I whip this up, is to add peanuts! I know it sounds a bit odd but a local restaurant had a similar pea salad that had peanuts in it instead of the bacon. I supposed that both do add crunch and salt to the salad itself. I really love it with the bacon, but will have to try it with the peanuts!
I have added a couple teaspoons of ranch dressing to the mixture as well for an extra zing of flavor– even added some dill would be delicious as well!

I always add a layer of sliced water chestnuts to my pea salad. They have a terrific crunch.
