What Are Steak Bites?

Steak Bites are small pieces of steak that you can eat with a fork or your fingers. Instead of a large slab of steak, the meat gets chopped into small pieces to look similar to a nugget. You can season them and prepare them on the stovetop before garnishing them with parsley and serving.

What Do You Need to Make Garlic Honey Steak Bites Recipe?

When making the Garlic Honey Steak Bites, be sure to have the following ingredients at home:

  • Cubed Steak. Chop your steak into small bite-size pieces.
  • Garlic. Use four cloves of garlic, chopped finely for this recipe.
  • Honey. Add two tablespoons of honey to your steak bites to add a touch of sweetness to the dish.
  • Smoked Paprika. Use the smoked paprika as a seasoning for your steak bites.

Additional ingredients include sea salt, black pepper, olive oil, dried oregano, fresh thyme, and Worcestershire sauce.

How long should you store the Honey Garlic Steak Bites?

You can store the Garlic Honey Steak Bites in an airtight food container for up to three days in the refrigerator. It does not matter if you use a plastic or glass food container. It is also possible to use a large plastic food storage bag. 

Make sure to release the extra air from the bag before you seal it closed and put it in the refrigerator. While it is best to eat the steak bites immediately after preparing them because that is when they are hot and fresh, the steak does not taste bad when you reheat it. You can also store your steak bites in the freezer for up to one month.

Which Steak is best to use?

You can use different steak variations. Sirloin steak is a great choice for the Garlic Honey Steak Bites. However, some of the other types of steak that you can use include filet mignon, ribeye, Flank, and New York strip. Use what you have available or whichever steak you prefer to ensure that you will enjoy these Garlic Honey Steak Bites.

Is it a recipe to make in advance?

It is better to make the recipe for the Garlic Honey Steak Bites when you are planning to eat the meat instead of making it in advance. However, if you need to make it ahead of time, you can do that and then store the meat in a food container in your refrigerator. You could reheat the meat in the microwave or in a skillet with a bit of oil or butter to give it that extra flavor.

Helpful Tips

Make sure your Steak Bites sizzle to perfection by getting your skillet hot enough before you put your meat inside it. If you plan on adding a bit of soy sauce into the pan with your steak, avoid using any extra salt. You do not want the meat to taste too salty! If you do not have a large skillet to use, cook the pieces of steak in batches to provide plenty of room for them to cook through.

What is a good alternative for Worcestershire Sauce?

If you do not have Worcestershire sauce at home, you might think that you cannot complete this recipe. However, there are some great alternatives that you can use as a replacement. If you have both soy sauce and ketchup, combine equal parts of both and use them as a replacement. 

Soy sauce combined with apple cider vinegar and red chili flakes would also work as an alternative. When you do not have soy sauce available, you can a bit of tabasco sauce with sugar to recreate a similar taste.

How to Freeze Garlic Honey Steak Bites

If you are anything like the rest of the world, you don’t want your food to go to waste. This is why you should know all about freezing the steak bites. Once they are done and cooled off, you can place the meat in a freezer-safe container. Eat within 3 months to ensure the best flavor!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb / 17.6 ounces / 500 g top sirloin steak cubed
  • Sea salt and black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Garnish

  • Parsley

Instructions

  • Season steak with salt, pepper and paprika and set aside for 10 minutes.
  • Heat a large non-stick pan with olive oil over high heat until it is smoking hot. When the pan is very hot, add steak cubes and sear each side until brown.
  • Now add garlic, oregano and thyme. Cook until garlic is fragrant then add Worcestershire sauce and honey. Mix all well.
  • Let it thicken then remove from heat.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
