What Is the 3 Packet Crock Pot Roast?
The 3 Packet Crock Pot Roast gets its name because it’s a roast that you put in the slow cooker and season with three separate packets. These packets are full of flavor and make the roast taste even better.
Ingredients for the 3 Envelope Roast
Before you get started, these are the ingredients you’re going to need to make such a fantastic meal:
-
Boneless Pork Roast – The roast is the star of the show for this recipe.
-
Brown Gravy Mix – Use one envelope of brown gravy mix to add a savory flavor.
-
Dry Ranch Packet – The ranch packet adds the perfect zesty touch to this delicious roast.
-
Zesty Italian Dressing – Don’t forget this packet, which also adds a zesty taste to the roast.
You’ll also need some water, broth and butter for this recipe. Can you believe that you can make such a tasty meal with so few ingredients?
What type of pork roast do I need to use?
You can use any type of pork roast that you prefer, but make sure it’s boneless. A boneless pork shoulder butt roast is a good choice because it’s full of flavor. If you don’t like the shoulder butt, you can use any other type of roast that you do like.
Do I need to use certain brands for the ranch or Italian seasoning packets?
No, you can use any brand that you prefer. It doesn’t matter if you choose a name brand or a generic brand at the store, as long as you have one packet of each.
How long does this need to cook in the slow cooker?
You’re going to need to cook this in the slow cooker for a minimum of six hours and a maximum of eight hours. If you’re cooking it low, it’ll need eight hours, but if you’re cooking it on high, it only needs to cook for six hours. Choose the setting based on how soon you’d like to have this incredible roast ready to serve and enjoy.
Can I use a beef roast?
Yes! You can use this same recipe to prepare a tasty beef roast that, similar to this recipe, will fall apart with ease and melt in your mouth with each bite!
What to Serve with the 3 Packet Roast
Not sure what to serve with this incredible roast? It’s flavorful enough to pair perfectly with lots of different sides. Some of the best sides to serve with this roast include roasted or baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, a baked sweet potato, or even noodles. You can eat shredded pieces of the roast on top of rice or noodles. If you want to make a sandwich with the pork, you can shred it down, add it to a roll, and add some toppings, such as cheese and coleslaw. Because it’s such a versatile dish, you can serve it with nearly anything you’d like!
How to Store the Leftover Roast
Store your leftover roast in a large food storage container and place the container in the fridge. You can keep your roast refrigerated for up to four days. When you need to reheat the meat, you can microwave it, put it in the oven, or even reheat it on the stove in a large pot. It will taste as good as it did when you first made it, even when you’re reheating it.
Can I freeze the cooked roast?
If you’d like to save your cooked pork roast even longer, you can freeze it. Be sure to add it to an airtight container and then store it in the freezer for a maximum of three months. You’ll need to let it thaw in the fridge before you reheat it.
