Ingredients Needed

Chocolate – You will want to use white chocolate and semisweet chocolate for this recipe. I recommend using quality chocolate.

Sugar – Granulated sugar is used to of course add sweetness but also create texture to the fudge.

Butter – Unsalted butter is what I used. Make sure it is real butter and not margarine.

Heavy Cream – Heavy cream is used to help add incredible richness to the fudge. I find it is a secret weapon for the fudge.

Marshmallow Creme – Reach for this in the plastic container. It is going to add a bit of a different texture compared to marshmallows would.

Vanilla Pudding – A little pudding is going to help add that cream pie flavor to the fudge that gives it that stand-out flavor.

Vanilla – A splash of vanilla extract is going to elevate all the flavors.

Cocoa Powder – Unsweetened cocoa powder will help add a chocolate flavor even richer.

Oil – A little vegetable or canola oil will be needed for mixing in with the topping to help the chocolate set up.

Tips For Making Fudge

Quality Chocolate

Make sure to use quality chocolate for this recipe. You are going to find that the chocolate is the stand-out flavor of the fudge. So make sure that you use quality, especially in the white chocolate. I find that white chocolate that is of cheaper quality will have a different flavor.

Line Pan

Make sure to line your pan with parchment paper so that you can easily remove the fudge once it is set up. Then you can slice and create those perfect squares to serve up your friends and family.

Allow Mixture To Cook

Once your mixture comes to a boil make sure you lower the heat to low and cook stirring constantly. This is important to not burn the mixture but allow it to cook down the way it needs. If you skip this step you will not get the right texture to the fudge.

Testing The Mixture

After it has cooked in the pan for a while you can add ice water to a container, then take a little of the fudge and drop into the cup. If you grab the mixture and it is a fudge-like texture then you are done cooking and can move on to the next steps.

Working Fast

After you get done cooking the fudge on the stovetop, you will find the next steps are some that need to move swiftly. The reason being is fudge can set up pretty fast so make sure to work quickly and have ingredients ready to grab and use.

Making this fudge is as easy as melting, mixing, and chilling. The fudge itself is made with white chocolate, marshmallow fluff, and a little bit of cake mix to give it that light, vanilla flavor that reminds you of cake. Itโ€™s smooth, creamy, and just sweet enough to satisfy your cravings. Then, to top it off, a thick layer of rich chocolate ganache gives the fudge that signature Boston Cream Pie feel. The combination of the two layers is absolutely irresistible!

Since itโ€™s a no-bake recipe, itโ€™s perfect for when you need a dessert thatโ€™s easy to make ahead. You can even make it the night before a big event, let it chill in the fridge, and have it ready to serve the next day. It’s a great make-ahead treat!

Tips for Slicing Fudge

I find that using a plastic knife is a great way to slice fudge with clean slices. I also find that you might like to use dental floss. It slices through the fudge smoothly as well. So feel free to use either method.

Candy Thermometer

If you have a candy thermometer you can check the doneness when it reaches 234 degrees. Just feel free use a thermometer if you own one.

Storing

You can store your fudge for 3-4 days at room temperature on the counter. Or you can extend the life for an extra day or two by storing it in the fridge in a sealed container.

The other option is freezing the fudge for 2-3 months. Just place it in a freezer container or freezer bag. I do recommend if you stack the fudge you can use wax paper between stacking.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 oz unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 7 oz container of marshmallow creme
  • 3 tbsp vanilla pudding
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

For the topping

  • 6 oz semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper (leave the edges hanging off the sides so you can lift the fudge out the dish) and set aside.
  • Add together the sugar, butter and heavy cream into a large sauce pan, bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Reduce the heat to medium low, cook for 7 minutes, stir constantly. You can check to see if itโ€™s ready but dropping a drop of it in a glass full of iced water, if you can grab the ball and itโ€™s fudge like, then itโ€™s perfect.
  • These next few steps need to be done pretty fast, remove from heat and immediately put in the white chocolate chips, stir until itโ€™s melted and mixed well. Add the marshmallow creme and mix well to combine.
  • Add the vanilla pudding and vanilla extract and mix until combined and smooth. Pour 2/3 of the fudge into the parchment paper lined pan.
  • Immediately whisk the cocoa powder into the remaining fudge in the pan, mix until combined. Pour the chocolate mixture on top of the custard fudge in the pan. Use a knife and make swirls around the fudge.
  • Let cool to room temp and then cut into 16 cubes. In a microwave safe bowl add the semi sweet chocolate chips and vegetable oil, microwave for 30 seconds at a time stirring each time until melted and smooth.
  • Let the chocolate cook for 15 minutes, once cooled down, pick up the fudge and dip the tops into the chocolate. Place the fudge on parchment paper and let the chocolate set and harden for about an hour. Serve and enjoy!
