What is a New Year’s Eve Charcuterie Board?

This charcuterie board is a festive and easy snack tray that is New Year’s Eve-themed. It is a circle cheese in the center of the tray that is decorated to look like a clock. This mimics the countdown to a new year. Then you will have an arrangement of fruits, meats, cheese, and more all around the board.

I love to make charcuterie boards for all occasions. I have this stunning antipasto wreath, or even check out my Santa charcuterie board.

Tips for Making A Charcuterie Board

Place Food Evenly On the Board

Make sure you place your ingredients on a board in an even layer. You can stack some of the food but do it in a clean presentation value.

Serving Tray

Make sure to reach for a serving tray that is fitting to the tray. I used a round wooden cutting board but feel free to pick and choose any shape of tray you would like.

Filling In Spaces

With smaller items like nuts and fruit, you will place them in areas on the board to ensure that all areas of the board are covered. This allows for a nice full look.

Prep Ingredients

Make sure to wash and prep the fruit before placing it on the serving tray. The same goes for meats and such. Prep by slicing into bite-size pieces, rolling the meat up, etc.

Group Foods Together

One thing I learned about making a charcuterie appetizer tray is to make sure you group foods. Having fruits that are by others, crackers, and meats, helps create a really clean look.

Storing Leftovers

If you do not eat all the board, you can easily store leftovers in the fridge. Place plastic wrap on the tray and keep it in the fridge until you are ready to serve it up. Or you can place it in plastic bags or containers so all the foods are separated. Either method works.

FAQs

How do I calculate the quantity of items for my charcuterie board?

Typically you will use 2-3 ounces of meat and cheese per person. So you can use that as a rough estimate in terms of how large of amounts you need to serve for each guest.

Are charcuterie boards healthy?

Charcuterie boards are typically pretty healthy. But, make sure that you know if you use unhealthy ingredients then it will of course change up the flavor values of the board.

Can I make a dessert charcuterie board?

If you would like to transform this into a dessert board go right ahead. Just swap out ingredients and reach for fruits, chocolate, cookies, cakes, etc. Have fun changing up the ingredients.
