Ingredients Needed

  • Evaporated milk – This is the main ingredient in this fudge, and is responsible for giving it its rich texture.
  • Sugar – Granulated sugar is what is going to give the fudge its sweet flavor.
  • Salted Butter – Unsalted butter may be used instead. If used, add a tiny pinch of salt to the recipe.
  • White chocolate chips – The white chocolate chips are going to give the fudge its classic chocolatey flavor.
  • Mini marshmallows –  Regular marshmallows may be used instead, although the mini marshmallows are a lot easier to work with when it comes to melting them.
  • Peppermint extract – This is what gives the fudge its classic peppermint flavor.
  • Crushed candy canes – You can use whatever candy canes you’d like, just make sure to crush them!

Tips for Making the Best Peppermint White Chocolate Fudge

  • It is very important to use a good brand of white chocolate chips. I recommend using Ghirardelli or Nestle.
  • Remember that the ingredients need to be very well combined and melted together.
  • You can use a rubber spatula to scrape down the saucepan’s sides just to ensure everything is getting incorporated evenly.
  • If you’d like, you can layer this fudge. One layer can be with the white chocolate, and the second can be with the pink/red peppermint.
  • You can chop up a white chocolate bar if you don’t have white chocolate chips!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz evaporated milk
  • 2/3 c sugar
  • 1 Tbs salted butter room temp
  • 2 1/2 c white chocolate chips
  • 7 c mini marshmallows
  • 2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 c crushed candy canes

Instructions

  • 1 – Line a 9×9 baking dish with parchment paper and set aside. Combine evaporated milk, sugar and butter in a medium sized saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat until it starts to simmer. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and add in the white chocolate chips. Mix until melted and well combined. The white chocolate chips may not melt completely, just because the pan is off of the heat. Add in marshmallows and mix, then return the saucepan to medium-low heat.
  • 2 – Stir the mixture in the saucepan until the marshmallows have completely melted. Add in peppermint extract and mix to combine. Add in half of the crushed candy canes and mix until incorporated. The mixture should be really thick at this point. Make sure all of the ingredients are mixed very well, then pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth out. Sprinkle the remaining crushed candy canes on top. Let the fudge set and cool down for about 4 hours, until firm. Once firm, remove from the pan and cut into 1" squares and serve.
