Tips And Tricks
Make sure to use a variety of ingredients for making this charcuterie board. For this version, I wanted all orange and green foods. But feel free to get creative and use a mix of items so you have dimension.
Make sure to use a round board, slab, or serving platter as it will give you that pumpkin shape. If you use a different shape that is okay, but it will have some empty space so you keep the round shape.
I recommend placing the eyes and face first and then working your way around creating the circle shape. This is going to help ensure you have an artful look at the end.
Make sure to use quality and fresh ingredients for this snacking board. It is important that your fruit and veggies are fresh, chips, etc. If you make it up in advance just make sure that you keep it covered until serving.
Dips and Spreads
You can have dips and spreads on the side for the veggies or chips if you want. Feel free to have your favorite sauces for dipping. From hummus to ranch dressing and all things in between.
So if you do not eat all the items on your board, you can transfer them into a sealed container. Place the cold items in the fridge, and chips and such on the counter in a container. Then you can snack on for a few days after. Use your best judgment in terms of quality.
Now you can also assemble your board in advance if you want. Just keep it covered in plastic wrap or foil.
Can I customize a charcuterie board for dietary restrictions?
Of course. Feel free to pick and choose food that works for you and your family and specific needs. From dairy-free items to meatless options.
How can I make my charcuterie board look visually appealing?
Make sure to focus on getting a nice clean shape when you are assembling the board. Clean edges are key so it really helps offer that vibrant look.
How much should I serve per person?
You will want to plan for 2-4 ounces of food per person when you are doing appetizers, or 6-8 ounces if you want more of a meal base. So make sure to know if you are going to do this as a party to pair with other appetizers to ensure it is more filling.
