Fully Loaded Cheesy Breakfast Sliders with Sausage are a protein-packed way to start your morning. Tender slider buns filled with scrambled eggs, shredded cheese, sausage patties, and a sweet and savory topping you brush on the slider buns. Bake up until the cheese is melted and the buns are warm and serve up breakfast.
The key to a delicious breakfast slider is the quality of the ingredients. Start by selecting a tasty sausage, such as breakfast sausage or spicy chorizo, to add a flavorful kick to your sliders. Next, choose a flavorful cheese, such as cheddar or pepper jack, to add a creamy and melty element to the sandwiches.
Finally, don’t forget the star of the show – eggs! Whether you prefer your eggs scrambled, fried, or poached, they will add a rich and satisfying element to your sliders.
These sausage sliders are a great recipe for a quick breakfast, meal prepping, or even a brunch when you are serving a crowd. Friends and family will devour these easy sliders right before your eyes.

Ingredients and Variations
Here is a list of what you will need. Full measurements for the breakfast sliders recipe are featured in the recipe card at the bottom of the post. This is a quick overview.
Hawaiian Rolls – You can use any type of slider buns. We used Hawaiian rolls that offer a sweet flavor to the rolls. But you can always reach for butter-style rolls for more savory.
Cheese – Sliced cheese or shredded cheese works for this recipe. I prefer to use American sliced cheese for a more gooey cheese like you get in your favorite breakfast sandwiches.
Sausage – Any sausage patties work for this recipe. Even if you want a turkey sausage it would be a great flavor for you. Just ensure the sausage is fully cooked.
Eggs – Large eggs will be used to make scrambled eggs for this recipe. If you prefer reach for just egg whites for a lower cholesterol option.
Milk – Whole milk will offer the richest flavor to the eggs. But you can use 2% or even skim milk if you want to lighten up the sandwiches.
Syrup – Maple syrup is used for the topping. Now, if you are not a fan of the sweet and savory you can always leave it out. Or feel free to even swap with honey.
Seasonings – Everything but the bagel seasoning, chives, and salt and pepper were used for mixing and brushing on the rolls.
Cooking Spray – This is used to help keep the rolls from sticking in the pan.
Storing Sausage Sliders
Meal Prep Or Freezing
You will prepare the sandwiches the same way you would in the recipe card. Let them bake and cool completely. Then cover and place in the fridge for an easy reheat through the week. Or you can wrap the sandwiches and freeze them. Then thaw the sandwiches in the fridge the night before or reheat straight from frozen in the microwave.
This is a great option for meal prepping for the week or to stock your freezer. I do recommend you wrap your sandwiches in a wet paper towel when reheating This keeps the rolls soft.
Refrigerate Leftovers
You can also just refrigerate leftovers in the fridge and have them on hand for when you want them. Eat them cold or warm them up in the microwave or the oven. If you heat up in the oven make sure that you cover with foil to help prevent the buns from drying out.
Freezing
Now if you have a few sandwiches left feel free to freeze them. I like to wrap each sandwich in foil or plastic wrap and then place it in a freezer bag or container. Freeze for 4-5 months. Then thaw in the fridge or reheat from frozen.
Not only are breakfast sliders delicious, but they are also incredibly convenient. They are easy to make in large batches, making them perfect for feeding a crowd or meal-prepping for the week ahead. You can also freeze them for later use, simply reheat in the oven or microwave for a quick and easy breakfast on the go.
Pro Tips for Success
Buttering Rolls
The topping for the rolls is a must. If you bake the rolls without the butter mixture on top it will dry out the buns. Make sure to spread it all over the slider buns. Now you can change up ingredients on top but just don’t skip the butter mixture.
Soft Sliders
Reach for quality slider runs that are going to offer flavor without overpowering. You can use pretzel rolls, butter rolls, sweet rolls or even mini croissants. Just ensure you are working with soft tender rolls.
Pre-Cook Meat and Eggs
The eggs and the sausage are both fully cooked. You are essentially assembling the sliders and then baking them in the oven just to allow the mixture to melt together with the sliced cheese. All other food has to be pre-cooked all the way through.
Serve Hot
These sandwiches are best served hot and fresh from the oven. You can allow them to cool down a bit but the best flavor is when they are fresh and hot from the oven.
