Air Fryer Nachos Ingredients
- Ground Beef – You’ll need a pound of ground beef for these flavorful nachos.
- Taco Seasoning – Grab a single packet of taco seasoning to add more flavor to your ground beef and the nachos, in general.
- Shredded Cheese – Use around a cup of shredded cheese, such as Colby or cheddar!
- Green Onion – Chop your green onion into small pieces before adding it to your nachos.
- Tortilla Chips – Use around two cups of tortilla chips to have more than enough to go around.
- Black Beans – Be sure to drain the black beans before you get started.
In addition to these ingredients, you’ll also need olive oil, diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, and sour cream. You can also include other optional toppings, such as jalapenos, corn, salsa, pico de gallo, and even some fresh cilantro.
Recipe Notes & Tips
- It’s best to use parchment paper to avoid a mess in your air fryer. If you don’t have parchment paper, you can always use aluminum foil.
- If you don’t want to prepare the ground beef in the air fryer, don’t sweat it. You can always cook it on the stove as you normally would by placing it in a skillet and browning it.
- Combine chili powder with garlic powder, oregano, paprika, cumin, sea salt, and some pepper to prepare your homemade version of taco seasoning.
Common Questions
Can I use an alternative for ground beef?
Yes, you absolutely can. If you’re not a big fan of ground beef, swap it out for lean ground turkey. You can also use a vegetarian-friendly version of ground beef if you prefer. Some people leave it out altogether, which is also fine to do.
What type of cheese should I use?
Colby jack or shredded cheddar cheese are two great options. However, you can also use what you like, such as Mexican-style shredded cheese or anything else of the sort that you feel will taste good with the ground beef, tortilla chips, black beans, and other add-ins.
Which brand of taco seasoning is best to use?
It’s a matter of preference. I recommend using your favorite packet of taco seasoning, whether it’s Taco Bell, McCormick, or even Old El Paso. If you’re using what you like and have already tried before, you’ll enjoy these nachos even more. It’s also fine to prepare your taco seasoning from scratch using a blend of different seasonings.
Can I make these nachos in advance?
I wouldn’t recommend it. If you make it in advance, the tortilla chips can get quite soggy, which takes away from the overall taste and texture of this dish. It’s best to prepare this a few minutes before you serve it so that it’s hot, fresh, and delicious.
